Making an audio CD from a sermon

Have you ever wanted to make an audio CD from a sermon but you don't know how? This tutorial should help you get started!

What you need to make this CD:
- You will need a computer
- An Internet Connection
- A CD Burner (DVD burner will also work)
- A blank CD (CD-R as they are sometimes called)

Step One: Get the Sermon
Navigate to the Our Sermons page on gbfchurch.net (http://gbfchurch.net/sermons)
Find the sermon you would like, and click the "download audio file" link on the right side of the row. You will want to save this mp3 file somewhere on your computer that you can find later. For this example we will save the file into My Documents in the My Music directory. The audio files are usually upwards of ten megabytes and can take a few minutes to download on highspeed access.

Step Two: Prepare your media
Place your blank CD in your CD drive. If you are prompted to by your operating system you may choose to make an audio CD.

Method One:
If you are not prompted (and you are using Windows XP or Vista) you will now go to My Computer, and double click on the CD drive that is a burner. It may tell you that there is a blank CD in the drive. You may be prompted to name the CD.

Method Two:
You may prefer to use CD burning software or Media Player or some other program to burn this CD. You will likely need to specify that it is an audio CD you are burning. Follow the on screen instructions.

Step Three: Burning a CD
At this point you should have a window open that lists no files. You can simply drag-and-drop files in there. You may wish to open another window - we saved our file into My Documents, the My Music folder. Click and drag that audio file into the CD window. You will likely only be able to fit one sermon per CD.

In Windows XP you will now navigate to the menu and go File > Write CD - be sure to make this an audio CD (not a data disc).

If you are using Windows Vista the drag-n-drop will burn the CD automatically. Go to the menu File > Close Session. This is not a manditory step, but it may be required for some CD players.

You have done it! Enjoy and God Bless.
